The Challenge

Allianz needed to reduce repetitive manual tasks across operations, underwriting, pricing, finance, IT, and compliance. High transaction volumes required automation to free employees for higher-value customer-facing work and to accelerate digital and data strategies.

The Solution

Allianz deployed SS&C Blue Prism digital workers, beginning with a proof of concept in 2017 before scaling to 60 digital workers automating over 100 processes. They enhanced the digital workforce with OCR and NLU to handle unstructured data, and established a robust governance framework with eight trained automation staff.

Results

The program now automates approximately 2.5 million transactions annually and returns 10,000 hours to employees each month. Automation expanded broadly from initial claims and operations focus into underwriting, pricing, finance, IT, and compliance functions.
